Foundations of Merinos were laid when Bilge Mehmet Erdemoğlu from Besni immigrated to Gaziantep and bought two carpet benches.
Erdemoğlu family, which started to produce carpet in 1983, increased its machine number in a couple of years. Meantime, Mehmet Erdemoğlu transferred the management to his children. He was a guiding sprit even if he stopped to be at work actively.
Erdemoğlu Halı San ve Tic. A.Ş. was established in 1990. With the establishment of Company, Erdemoğlu family took the first step in institutionalization by gathering effort that they made up to that day under a single roof.
Erdemoğlu family, which started to produce its yarn in 1992, increased its growth rate considerably. This company became one of the large producers of the carpet sector at short notice.
Merinos brand was born in 1998. This is the biggest step taken in becoming world leader.
Merinos, which proved its quality and reliability in the carpet, made investment on furniture sector in 2004. Couch, seating groups, bed, bed base, dining room, bed room, teenager groups and panel furniture are produced in its factory of Izmir, Torbalı.
Merinos Lojistik, which carried expanding product range of Merinos to across Turkey and the world, was established in 2006. Merinos Lojistik, which follows technological developments closely, reinforces its position in the logistics sector day by day.
All home textile products such as primarily licensed products, blanket, carpet, bed linen, sleep set, coverlet, towel, bathrobes and closet sets for bathroom are produced in plants of Merinos, which put its signature to home textile sector in 2007, in Uşak.
Merinos, which increases its exportation day by day, was established in Rostov city of Russia. It is easier to open up to the world from here.
Merinos, which obtained TURQUALİTY that was carried out with vision of “creating 10 world brands in 10 years” in 2010 and is state-funded international branding program, is the first and only brand that obtained this certificate in the carpet sector.
Today, Merinos exporting to 78 countries in 5 continents is a world leader in area rug. It is a world brand which has a structure that gives priority to social-dimensional organizational activities which can be beneficial to the society, has international quality standard and image and which also makes contributions for economy of the country.
